Abila is a personal project of mine, done alongside Chris Costello, Marlo Ongpin, and Lau Laureano. We aim to feature beautiful and talented Filipinas the way we know best: Through the lens of our cameras.

Gigi Lapid is a visual artist who dabbles in illustration, painting and graphic design. An active member of children’s book illustrators’ organization, Ang InK (Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan), she has always been fascinated with art geared towards a younger audience. Despite her interest in all things happy and whimsical, she is also drawn to emotive and more serious art. Her favorite artist is Frida Kahlo. Gigi feels most comfortable drawing women and faces. Her favorite body part to draw or paint are eyes.
